I’m Jess, the second Jess in the Pace office. I have a self-employed, varied marketing background, so moving into a permanent position is a pretty big change for me and I’m excited to get started! I covered all areas of digital marketing for my own clients who were based all over England, though mainly in the South East.
Having been a one-man band, I was looking to join a busy team environment. I’m looking to move into the local area so an agency in Hull was ideal, and Pace just happened to be perfect!
What’s the most recent photo on your phone?
A goofy photo of two of my dogs. I have three at home who are essentially my children. Two of them are high-energy working breeds with which I compete regularly in Agility, and the other is basically a cat in a dog’s body – he’s a rescue from Romania!
Which social media platform is your favourite and why?
Instagram at the moment, but it changes regularly. I like Instagram because it’s so easy to connect to people who have the same interests and lifestyles regardless of where they are in the world. It’s pretty awesome!
What was your first impression of the Pace office?
I love the space, and the light, and the people. It’s the first place I’ve worked where I feel like I’m quite normal and fit in!
Describe yourself in three words
Organised, efficient and (a little bit) odd.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself
I was awarded a large grant by the Princes Trust for my first business, and subsequently invited to the House of Lords for canapés and champagne on the Thames for an awards evening through the charity.
What are you most looking forward to about starting at Pace?
The variety and volume of workflow will keep me busy, which is really important for me. I’m also looking forward to working with other human beings on a day-to-day basis, instead of being a one-man-band whose sole human interaction every day is seeing the postman. People need people!
