Hello, I’m Steve – the new Creative Director at Pace. I’ve spent the past 20 years working with and learning from some great people in design agencies around Hull. I love spending time with my family and three children, playing and coaching football, reading, and all of the other usual stuff.
Could you describe yourself in three words?
Creative, determined and focused.
What’s the best thing you’ve read/watched/listened to recently?
I want to be the Pep Guardiola of the Hull and District Youth Football league (I coach under 10’s) so I am reading a lot of football books at the moment. Michael Calvin’s ‘Living on the Volcano’ so far is excellent.
What’s your party trick?
I can catch peanuts or grapes in my mouth, will that do?
What do you do to de-stress?
Spend time with my family. There’s always somebody to take along to football, swimming or dance classes throughout our spare time. LBC (life before children – as we call it at home) is a distant memory!
Tell us what you love about Hull.
The people, the accent and the football club.
The people are the main reason behind everything else that is great about the place, but also that attitude to ‘shurrup and get on with it’. As for the football club? Let’s not go there at the moment.
What are you most looking forward to about starting at Pace?
Working with a great team and seeing what we can achieve together. There are a lot of new challenges and projects ahead, and I can’t wait to get involved and learn more.
