Designs and Sports ID: Better Together

Designs and Sports ID: Better Together

From humble beginnings back in 1993, Designs Signage Solutions Ltd has grown to become one of the UK’s leading signage and vehicle branding companies. They tasked us with creating a concept to help announce their merger with sister company Sports ID, sports branding and signage specialists, to become simply ‘Designs’.

It was important to assure existing Sports ID clients that there would be no negative impact to their existing relationship, and that the merger would in fact only strengthen the service offered to them.

With that in mind, the ‘Better Together’ concept was born. And how better to visually represent that two things working together are better than one, than by showcasing some of the most iconic duos known to modern man.

As we were primarily targeting existing Sports ID customers, we didn’t want to limit the reach of the campaign by keeping it solely online, so we took the video and delivered it straight to their door. Literally.

The announcement was supported by an email campaign and PR coverage to let the wider world know about the merger too.

“Despite my best efforts in the early concept stage, naming the campaign “Name a more iconic duo. I’ll wait.” was quickly dismissed internally. I can’t complain though. It’s not every day that you get to animate Batman and Robin and Torvill and Dean in the same video.”

“I’m delighted with the work Pace have done on the Designs/Sports ID merger communications. It’s been very successful, and we’ve had excellent feedback, internally and externally. Everyone involved in the campaign at Pace’s end have all been very communicative throughout.”

Rob Daysley, Managing Director, Designs
