In April 2017, we were tasked with organising and managing the opening event of the Humber Enterprise Park. The long-standing aircraft manufacturing site had undergone a £6m, 2-year transformation, and it was time to unveil the results to the Humber region’s business community. With the help of a Royal.
We were set the goal of 150 RSVPs, with a 13-day window from start to finish to get it all done.
To celebrate the regeneration, HRH The Duke of York would be coming along to officially open the site. In terms of both security and logistics, the complexities of a Royal visitor were something we had to nail down quickly to make the event a success.
A series of email campaigns secured the guests and kept them up to speed with an event agenda and transport instructions. Caterers were carefully selected to keep the audience fed and watered, while press contacts were notified.
Thanks to teamwork, planning and plenty of Excel documents, over 150 guests attended on the day. The event received extensive media coverage from the likes of BBC Look North, Radio Humberside, KCFM, the Hull Daily Mail and Viking FM.
“Pace handled the whole event really well, taking the pressure off us by making sure everything ran smoothly in the background while securing a lot of great press coverage too. The day proved to be a huge success!”
James Appleton-Metcalfe, Managing Director, Citivale
