Pace in 2022: our year in review
I’m sure I’m not the only person to have spent some time between Christmas and New Year reflecting on the joys and challenges of 2022.
And what a year it was at Pace!
We said hello to some amazing new clients, as well as to talented new colleagues.
We won awards for creative campaigns and outstanding client management.
And we helped our clients tell their stories – and drive sales - through creative communications that informed, engaged and inspired target audiences.
Here are our top 10 highlights from a memorable year:
Securing global media coverage for plastic roads company MacRebur as it continues its expansion in Europe and beyond – including an interview for CEO Toby McCartney on a US radio platform with over 30 million weekly listeners
Helping spread the word about eco-cleaning products firm Bio-D, though a PR reach of almost 300 million. After achieving B Corp accreditation (the gold standard in sustainability) early in 2022 Bio-D continues to attract customers and fans seeking effective, ethical products that don’t cost the Earth
Winning our third Chip Shop Award in as many years. Organised by The Drum, Europe’s biggest marketing website, the awards recognise creative excellence. Our entry, which won the Best Retail category, gave the famous Wonderbra ‘Hello Boys’ campaign a new twist for Breast Cancer Awareness month
Creating a brand video for luxury holiday homes manufacturer Victory that moved the client to tears
Merging with local agency Blab. As well as welcoming its talented team to Pace, we were thrilled to begin working with clients including Great Newsome Brewery, GTS Logistics and Thompson Commercial as part of the merger
Taking the award for Best Client Services Team at the Prolific North Champions Awards. The awards celebrate brilliance in the creative and digital sectors and I was thrilled that our client services team, led by Becci Flitton-O’Brien received this well-deserved industry recognition
Driving Christmas sales through a social campaign for global beauty brand 7th Heaven, reaching over 1.35m accounts in just the first 10 days of activity
Increasing the work we do with global health, hygiene and nutrition firm Reckitt as we took on new internal comms projects
Picking up the prize for Best Fibre Marketing Campaign at the UK Fibre Awards for our work with Pure Broadband. A new brand identity and our ‘No ifs, no buts, no buffering. Just really good broadband’ campaign led to a year-on-year increase in annual revenue of 33 per cent
Putting Grimsby’s newest festival – Grim Falfest – on the map through an integrated PR, marketing and social media campaign that led to huge awareness and attendance
Thanks to all of the above and more, Pace was ranked 17th among the Top 50 PR agencies in the north – and the fifth fastest-growing agency – by media and marketing hub Prolific North.
Its annual Top 50 list is the go-to benchmark for the industry and I’m immensely proud of our inclusion for the first time.
So, while 2022 presented some challenges – as I’m sure it did for all small business owners dealing with political uncertainty, rising costs and changing markets – it brought a lot to celebrate and I’d like to start 2023 with a huge thank you to our loyal clients, whose brilliant products and services brought us so much inspiration over the last 12 months.
As for what 2023 will bring, the whole Pace team is excited by the prospect of helping to make our clients even more successful in the year ahead.
We have great plans and I’m looking forward to working with more fantastic businesses across the whole range of our creative services (watch this space for more!) and investing in the skills of our team to create more opportunities for them – and for our clients.
Happy 2023 everyone!
